Home gyms are brilliant, saving you time and money in the long run while allowing you to be more flexible with your training. And, with an array of fitness deals available, Cyber Monday is the best time to build one.

As a fitness writer and former home gym owner (my next one is under construction), I’ve rounded up the best Cyber Monday fitness deals to fill your training space for less than $500. 

Each one will add value to your training, helping you build strength, muscle and stamina, and all for the princely sum of $497.15. For reference, I replicated the below shopping list with the most affordable options of similar products from fitness gear gurus Rogue Fitness—my basket totaled $2,169.66.

Of course, you don’t have to buy everything on my list. There are some great individual deals to pick and choose from, so take a look and see which bargains could upgrade your home training.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Garmin Epix Pro are two of the best sports watches available, and both are reduced in the Cyber Monday sales. You can get the standard Epix Pro for $699.99 down from $899.99 at both Garmin and Amazon, while Amazon has reduced the Apple Watch Ultra 2 from $799 to $739.

Both are outstanding watches, but which should you get? I used both watches for several weeks when testing them for my reviews on Coach and have continued to use them since then. In my mind the choice will depend on how much you value the smarts of the Apple Watch versus the training analysis, battery life and navigation tools you get from the Garmin.

The Garmin Epix Pro has a bright AMOLED display and Garmin’s best smart features, including NFC payments through Garmin Pay and music storage with the ability to link up to streaming services including Spotify to wirelessly transfer your playlists across to the watch.

However, it isn’t a true smartwatch, with the Connect IQ app store being mostly limited to watch faces and data fields rather than useful third-party apps, and it doesn’t have cellular capabilities. Garmin Pay is also less easy to set up and use than Apple Pay, especially outside the USA.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 obviously is a proper smartwatch, the best on the market in fact, with the most impressive App Store and cellular capabilities. Within the App Store you can also find loads of brilliant sports tracking and navigation apps, so while the native tracking on the watch isn’t quite as good as Garmin’s, you can get a Garmin-level experience from apps like WorkOutDoors and others.

However, what you can’t get from the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is more than two days of battery life, or the detailed training analysis you get from the Garmin Epix Pro. Garmin is also well ahead of all other watch brands with regards to its navigation tools. The Epix Pro has color maps on the watch and can create routes on the fly, or you can load routes onto it to follow from your wrist.

I used both watches side by side during testing and I’d say they are among the best watches available with regards to GPS and heart rate accuracy, with both having multi-band GPS, though on both counts I’d just give the edge to the Garmin Epix Pro as the slightly more accurate watch.

Normally the Apple Watch Ultra 2 has another advantage in being cheaper, but that has been turned on its head during the Cyber Monday sales, because the Epix Pro is reduced by $200 and comes in $40 less than the Apple Watch.

I’d say unless you really need the cellular capabilities of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 in particular, the Epix Pro is the smarter buy in the sales. It’s a little larger on the wrist than the Apple Watch Ultra 2, but the latter is not a small watch either, and as an added bonus the Epix Pro has built-in flashlight so you always have a light handy for your adventures.

The Hoka Cyber Monday/Black Friday sales have been a little disappointing. While there are a few good deals available in the UK, there’s been very little to report in the US, and my hopes of seeing shoes like the Hoka Clifton 9 or Hoka Rocket X2 in the sales have gone unfulfilled.

However, the Hoka Mach 5 is reduced in the UK, and if you can pick it up for under £100 then that is undoubtedly a great deal for one of the best all-round running shoes available. Both SportsShoes and Pro:Direct have included the Mach 5 in their Cyber Monday sales, and the cheapest you can get the shoe is £91.99.

The Mach 5 is a comfortable shoe for cruising through easy and long runs, but is also lightweight and responsive enough to use for faster runs. It’s a good long-distance racing option if you don’t want to use a carbon plate running shoe, and although the lack of an outsole means it’s not as durable as some shoes, it’s still a great addition to any running shoe rotation. 

In general, my advice for buying running shoes in the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales is to know in advance what you’re looking for, and then hunt for a bargain on that. However, sometimes a deal so unexpected turns up, you have to tear up your plans.

One such deal is this New Balance Cyber Monday discount on the FuelCell Super Comp Trail shoe, which drops the price by 25% from $199.99 to $149.99. This is a relatively new carbon plate trail-running shoe, and given that the New Balance sale includes hardly any good running shoes, it’s a surprise to see the top-of-the-range off-road racer in it.

I reviewed the New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Trail only recently and I wasn’t expecting to see such a new shoe in the sale at all. It has a fast ride thanks to the bouncy FuelCell midsole and the carbon plate, and is a great option for running events on mixed terrain. It runs small and narrow though, so order a half size up or your toes won’t be happy, especially on longer runs.

If the SuperComp Trail is an unexpected shoe to find in the sale, the opposite is true of the New Balance Fresh Foam 1080v12. The 1080v13 came out recently so I have been hunting for deals on the previous version of the shoe, and the best I’ve found is at Dick’s Sporting Goods, where the workhorse daily trainer has dropped below $100 for some colors, with many others just over $100.

The Black Friday And Cyber Monday Garmin deals started in early November this year and there have been big savings available across Garmin’s range of watches. Two surprise deals have cropped up late in the month though, a $50 discount to be had on both the Garmin Venu 3 and Garmin Vivoactive 5.

Both watches are among the newest in Garmin’s range—the Venu 3 came out in August and the Vivoactive 5 in September, so getting any kind of discount is a surprise this Cyber Monday, and the Vivoactive 5 is now just $249.99 on both Amazon and Garmin.

The Vivoactive 5 is missing a few features compared with the Venu 3, such as a microphone and speaker and an altimeter, and it also has an older heart rate sensor than the Venu 3, which is $399.99 in the sales down from $449.99. The Venu 3 also comes in two sizes and has slightly longer battery life, but the core features are the same across both watches and the Vivoactive 5 is $200 cheaper.

Neither the Venu 3 or Vivoactive 5 are true smartwatches like the Apple Watch Series 9 or Google Pixel Watch 2, both of which have access to proper app stores and have cellular models in their ranges, but they do have key smart features and better native sports tracking through Garmin. 

Socks make for great gifts for runners, and gifts don’t always have to be for other people, right? If you’re a keen runner, or need to buy presents for one this holiday season, then it’s well worth checking out the Stance Cyber Monday sale, where you can get an extra 10% off socks with the code CYBER on top of the up to 40% discount already available.

I run almost every day and usually log 50 to 70 miles a week when training for a marathon, and Stance’s running socks are my favorite running socks, which is why they’re rated as the best overall in my best running socks round-up and have been for some time.

There is a wide range of socks included in Stance’s sale, whether you’re looking for running socks, socks for other sports, or just socks for casual use. The light version of the Performance Crew socks are my top pick for running, though the medium cushion are also great, especially if you want a slightly thicker fabric for winter.

Stance’s socks are comfortable and impressively durable. I have some sets I’ve been using regularly on the run for five years and they’re still fine, if a little stiffer than when new owing to their many trips through the washing machine.

If you pick up a set of socks that use Stance’s Infiniknit technology, such as the performance crew socks, then they are also guaranteed for life, so if any holes do appear you can get a new pair to replace them.

Once you’ve picked out your running socks, you may also want to consider the Grinch socks also available in the sale. They are $10.79 down from $16.99 and made from a very cozy and fluffy material. They’re the perfect Christmas socks, whether you’re a Grinch or not.

I’ve tested almost every rower you’ll find in a list of the best rowing machines (albeit before I began writing for Coach). Eight brands in total including the original Hydrow, Hydrow Row, Ergatta, WaterRower and Echelon Row. But in spite of the spate of Black Friday rowing machine deals on the usual suspects (Hydrow, Ergatta, Echelon, NordicTrack), I would still point most people in a different direction: the Concept2 RowErg.

The Concept2 RowErg is almost never discounted so if you’re shopping for a rowing machine during the Cyber Monday sales you’re unlikely to have it suggested to you. 

You may well have come across it in real life, though. Have you ever used a rowing machine in a gym? Chances are it was a Concept2. I have friends who row competitively and what do they train on? The Concept2. As a CrossFitter, every box I’ve ever trained in has a bunch of rowers lining one wall. Their maker? You guessed it: Concept2.

It’s the industry gold standard, which is why, despite my experience with most machines on the market, I only had eyes for one rower when I set out to buy one a few years ago.

Why Should You Buy A Concept2 RowErg?

I’ve owned a Concept2 RowErg for two years and use it at least once a week. In all that time I’ve never once regretted my purchase. 

The machine is robust and reliable, and it’s long enough to comfortably accommodate lanky users (I’m 6ft 2in on a good day). It can be dismantled into two halves to make it a little bit easier to store. I pulled it out of the corner where it currently lives to photograph it for this article and, once laid out in front of me, it took me all of 40 seconds to assemble.

The PM5 monitor, though monochrome, is surprisingly detailed, offering plenty of customizable workout options and all the performance data you need. 

If you think you’ll miss the connected experience offered by Hydrow, Peloton or Ergatta, you’ll be pleased to know one of Coach’s favorite workout apps, Fiit, now offers connected workouts for the Concept2 RowErg. 

You will have to pay a subscription to use Fiit, but at $19.99 a month it’s a lot cheaper than the $44 a month for Hydrow, and the Concept2 is eminently usable without an app. If you buy a connected rower, you really need to budget for the ongoing cost of the app. With the Concept2 you can cut costs and follow something like Coach’s rowing workout plan for a couple of months.

You’re also spending less upfront compared with my second favorite rowing machine, the Hydrow Wave. Even with a $450 Cyber Monday discount, Hydrow’s more affordable option is still nearly $500 bucks more expensive. 

You don’t even have to plug the Concept2 into the mains outlet to use it.

Who Shouldn’t You Buy A Concept2 RowErg?

The Concept2 isn’t perfect (what is?). The air resistance is fairly noisy and the machine isn’t the prettiest or most compact. Even split in two, the bulky fan cage and lengthy rail aren’t going to fit in your average cupboard. 

Also, if you just want a machine for occasional rowing workouts or a low-impact exercise option to help you recover from injury, a cheaper model like the Bluefin Fitness Blade 2.0 or, in the UK, JLL R200, might suffice and save you a lot of money. 

I spent the Black Friday weekend running in Scotland and winter runs can be magical experiences. Climbing a hill for epic views of a frosty landscape on a clear winter’s day was one of the highlights of my trip. 

However, winter running can also be somewhat unpleasant if you’re out in freezing temperatures with the wrong gear. Donning one of the best running jackets will help, but a pair of Gore-Tex shoes can really be a game-changer, keeping your feet warm and dry. As luck would have it, three top Gore-Tex running shoes are available in the Cyber Monday sales.

The first is the Nike Pegasus Trail 4 Gore-Tex, which is reduced to under $100 in the Nike sale when using the code CYBER. The price varies with color, but the cheapest men’s shoe is just $83.98, while the cheapest women’s is $92.98.

I enjoyed using the standard Nike Pegasus Trail 4 on roads and light trails throughout the summer months when I tested it for my Nike Pegasus Trail 4 review. The Gore-Tex version is a great option for the winter, with the grip helping with wet pavements and the upper keeping your feet warm.

This weekend I was testing the Puma Voyage Nitro 3, which is another great all-terrain shoe that served me well on icy roads and steep, frosty hills during my trip. I had the standard version of the shoe, which is a little too breathable for the cold temperatures I was running in, but you can get the women’s Voyage Nitro 3 for $112 down from $160 in Puma’s sale right now. If you just want the great grip for wintry pavements and trails, then the standard shoe is $105 down from $140.

Finally, if your winter runs are more likely to take place almost entirely on the trails, the Saucony Peregrine 13 GTX is a great shoe to consider. I tested the Gore-Tex shoe during the summer so didn’t get the full benefit of the waterproof upper then, but it’s one I’ll be using more now winter has come. Saucony’s Cyber Week sale has knocked 25% off the price of the shoe, bringing it down to $120.

The Bowflex Velocore is not like other exercise bikes. It has a clever design that allows you to tilt from side to side to make the ride feel more realistic, as well as engaging your core more than other indoor bikes.

It’s one of the best exercise bikes we’ve tested, but expensive, so to see it reduced by a huge $500 in the Black Friday sales is certainly welcome, with both Bowflex and Best Buy selling the Velocore for $1,299.

The Velocore available at this price has a 16in touchscreen mounted on the console, upon which you can see the JRNY app (two-month membership included), which contains guided workouts and scenic rides. You can also watch streaming services like Netflix and Disney+ on the screen, if you have a subscription, and connect the bike to third-party apps like Peloton and Zwift.

We gave the Bowflex Velocore a 4.5-star review, with its ability to lean and the third-party connectivity helping it to stand out from rivals like the Peloton Bike+. And rest assured you can also lock the bike in position and use it like a normal exercise bike, if you tire of leaning to and fro on your indoor rides.

When selectorized adjustable dumbbells first hit the mainstream, I’ll admit, I didn’t see the appeal. Fixed weight and spinlock sets had always served me well. And if it ain’t broke? Then I was sent these Bowflex adjustable dumbbells to test. 

Now the Bowflex SelectTech 552s, the very same set that changed my mind, are my pick of all the Cyber Monday adjustable dumbbell deals. 

They’re discounted by $80 on the Bowflex website, with the price dropping from $429 to $349. I’ve covered a few Cyber Mondays now and have kept tabs on the price. While this isn’t the lowest they’ve been—$329.99 on Amazon around Prime Day—this isn’t far off. 

There are more affordable options available with similar maximum weights, like the $76.50 CAP Barbell Adjustable Dumbbell. But having tested a range of the best dumbbells I’ve found it’s worth plumping for a premium option to avoid rattling plates or clunky weight-changing procedures. 

Why I Recommend This Bowflex SelectTech 552 SelectTech Cyber Monday Adjustable Dumbbell Deal

1. Practicality

Have you ever tried to hit a superset with spinlock dumbbells, when the two exercises call for different weights? By the time you’ve made the change, you’ve lost the time-saving, intensity-boosting benefits of the superset. 

Even with fixed-weight dumbbells, you usually have to hoard a small pile of weights to see you through your workout. 

Not so with the Bowflex SelectTech. You can change the weight in seconds by popping them in their docking tray and twisting the dials on either end to the load you want. No need to fiddle about with interchangeable plates or run to the rack for another set. 

This process has always worked smoothly for me, with the weight plates sitting securely in place afterward—something that can’t be said for cheaper sets I’ve tested. 

2. Neatness

When I first started working out at home, my set-up was something of a spinlock dumbbell graveyard. Everywhere you looked there were stray weight plates, collars and rusted handles. 

Now I don’t have that problem. The Bowflex SelectTechs offer the equivalent of 15 pairs of dumbbells, each ranging in weight from 5lb to 52.5lb (hence the name, 552), while taking up the same floor space as a single set.

When you change the weight, the unused plates stand to attention in the docking tray, waiting for the next time they’re called upon. 

They’re so unobtrusive that I choose to have my pair sitting by my desk. That way, if I have a few exercises to catch up on from my morning session, I can quickly get them done over lunch. 

3. Value For Money

Fitting the phrases “value for money” and “$349 dumbbells” into the same sentence might seem a bit odd at first, but bear with me. 

At the point of initial investment, a set of fixed-weight dumbbells is going to be far kinder on your wallet than most adjustable alternatives. However, when you no longer feel challenged using your fixed-weight dumbbells for certain exercises, you’re going to need a heavier set.

This is likely to set you back even more than your first purchase, given you’re buying a heavier weight. With the Bowflex SelectTech 552s, you can just place them in their docking tray and twist the dials.

I also like that the Bowflex dumbbells offer smaller weight jumps than many rivals. Up to 25lb, the weight of each dumbbell can increase by 2.5lb, rather than the 5lb offered by competitors I’ve tried like this Core Home Fitness set. This is ideal for lighter exercises like lateral raises, where the jump from 5lb weights to 10lb weights is huge. 

There’s no better time to buy a massage gun than on Cyber Monday, as you can expect every one of the best massage guns to be heavily discounted. 

I’ve reviewed a dozen massage guns, but there are only three that I’ve continued using regularly—and if you act fast you can save as much as $250 on one of them. 

When training for HYROX at the start of the year, I used the Theragun PRO to limber up for home workouts and the more portable Theragun Mini at the gym. The more discreet Mini also came in handy on race weekend to prime my muscles minutes before hitting the start line—then again to soothe my weary limbs on the train home. 

If Hyperice’s heated head attachment was available back then it would have made those cold morning runs that little bit more bearable too. Now I tend to use it with my Hyperice Pro 2 before rowing workouts or when sitting at my desk, zeroing in on my lower back. I find the soothing heat helps relax these muscles, which are especially prone to seizing up.

Hyperice Hypervolt 2 Pro

Hyperice’s top-end massage gun has always represented good value when stacked up against Therabody’s flagship Theragun PRO (my Theragun PRO Vs Hypervolt 2 Pro comparison goes into more detail). The Hypervolt 2 Pro is a pleasure to use, and delivers impressive power and frequency, but for me its standout feature is the vast library of Bluetooth-enabled guided routines available on the Hyperice App. A new addition I’m really enjoying using now that winter is upon us, is the heated head attachment. It can be slotted into any of the Hypervolt models and used to apply 109°F, 115°F or 120°F (43°C, 46°C or 49°C) of soothing warmth as well as percussion to stiff muscles.

Therabody Theragun Mini

Mini by name but mighty by design. This compact, travel-friendly massage gun delivers just as much oomph as Theragun’s top-end PRO, with speeds of 1,750, 2,100 and 2,400 percussions per minute. The second gen model is 20% smaller and 30% lighter—at just 450g (1lb)—than the 1st gen Theragun Mini I tested, making it even better suited for use on the go.

Therabody Theragun PRO 4th Gen

The Theragun PRO has pride of place in my home office for desk-based massages or to help me loosen up before home workouts. Its versatile multi-grip handle and the comprehensive Therabody App help it stand apart.

In 2022, Therabody released a fifth-generation upgrade that includes a proprietary EQ-150 motor said to be 20% quieter than previous iterations. The OLED display has also been revamped. You can now cycle through four visually-guided routines, like Sleep and Warm Up, without needing to reach for the Therabody App mid-massage. While impressive, so is the 4th gen’s hefty $250 discount.

Is A Massage Gun Worth It

The jury has long been out on the true merits of massage guns, but a systematic literature review published in April 2023 identified “a significant relationship” between a single application of percussive therapy and an acute increase in muscle strength, explosive muscle strength and flexibility. 

Additionally, multiple treatments were found to reduce experiences of musculoskeletal pain—in particular, pain impacting the back and shoulders. The kind of tightness that can build up from several hours spent hunched over your desk, for example. 

So, while a deep tissue sports massage would be my optimal recovery method of choice, massage guns present a good DIY alternative. I do, however, believe they should only be used as the cherry on top of your fitness routine, once you’ve found a formula that means you can exercise consistently. But if you have the money, these three massage guns at their reduced prices should deliver a decent ROI for your long-term health and fitness.

The Peloton Tread is reduced from $2,995 to $2,695 in the Black Friday sales, and while no-one is going to tell you with a straight face that a $300 discount makes this machine cheap, after extensive testing for this Peloton Tread review I can confirm that it’s a superb treadmill.

It’s the best treadmill I’ve tried outside of a gym, and that’s entirely thanks to the hardware. The 59in by 20in running belt is huge, and the open front of the machine means that it feels even more spacious. As a 6ft runner I had no concerns about room and could run comfortably at speeds over 10mph for long periods without feeling cramped.

The speed and incline can easily be adjusted using the dials on the sides of the treadmill, with the speed going up to 12.5mph and the incline to 12.5%. The 3HP motor means the treadmill runs smoothly even at high speeds with incline, and the speed and incline both change very quickly when you twist the dials.

Obviously the vast 23.8in screen is a big part of the appeal of the Peloton Tread, and with a Peloton membership ($44 a month) you get access to a library of guided workouts you can do live or on demand, as well as scenic runs. Peloton is yet to open up the screen to third-party apps like Netflix or Zwift though, which is a shame, and without a membership all you can do on the treadmill is use the ‘just run’ mode.

If you can afford the initial cost and membership—and have room for it—the Peloton Tread is an exceptionally good treadmill and makes indoor workouts more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a cheaper machine though, the Bowflex Treadmill 10 is another one I highly recommend after testing, and it’s $1,699  in the Boxflex Black Friday sale.

I have been a regular visitor to the SportsShoes website in recent days to check its Black Friday sale for deals on the best running shoes. What I did not expect to find there was the best deal available on the Garmin Forerunner 955, which is available for £359.99 down from £479.99.

The Forerunner 955 was always due to be reduced this Black Friday after the Garmin Forerunner 965 came out earlier this year, but the older watch has been updated with all of Garmin’s latest software features, and while it doesn’t have the bright AMOLED display of the 965, its LCD screen means it offers longer battery life compared with the 965. (Read my Garmin Forerunner 965 Vs Garmin Forerunner 955 comparison for more.)

It’s the best value watch for those who want Garmin's top features like maps and extensive training analysis on top of accurate and detailed sports tracking, coming in cheaper than the likes of the Garmin Fenix and Epix ranges.

Amazon currently doesn’t have a discount available on the Forerunner 955, and the cheapest I’ve found the watch elsewhere in the sales is £399.99, so you save an extra £40 at SportsShoes.

Jabra’s range contains some of the best workout headphones available and there are options to suit all budgets, especially in the Black Friday sales with two standout sets of buds significantly reduced at Amazon.

The top-of-the-range Jabra Elite 8 Active are £129 down from £199.99, which make them easy to recommend if it weren’t for the fact the Jabra Elite 4 Active are reduced by 42% from £119.99 down to £69 in the sale. Both are among the best running headphones, but is it worth spending extra on the Elite 8 Active?

I’ve tested both sets of headphones extensively, and the choice mainly comes down to how much value you place on sound quality and active noise cancellation, both of which are better on the Elite 8 Active.

If you’re often using the buds for traveling or just have high audio-quality standards, the difference will be noticeable. However, the Elite 4 Active still offer good sound quality and ANC, and I wouldn’t pay an extra £60 for the upgrade.

Another difference is that the Elite 8 Active have Jabra’s ShakeGrip coating, which makes the fit a little more secure than with the Elite 4 Active. I found both sets of buds stayed in my ears fine during runs and other vigorous workouts, but given that they don’t use wings, any extra features to make the fit more secure are useful.

Other differences include that the Elite 8 Active are a little hardier, with an IP68 rating compared to the IP57 of the Elite 4 Active. A higher rating is always a good thing, but I have no concerns about the durability of the Elite 4 Active either.

Both are great sets of headphones and although the Elite 8 Active are certainly better on several fronts, I’d still grab the Elite 4 Active for £60 less, but there’s also value in picking up the Elite 8 Active at such a significant discount in the sales.

The Cyber Monday Garmin deals have been coming thick and fast throughout November, and now, as the big day is finally upon us, I hope they will build to a crescendo of savings. I’ve been hunting for deals on the Garmin Fenix in particular, with three generations of the sports watch worth looking out for in the sales.

Originally released in 2019, the Garmin Fenix 6 Pro is old, but still an excellent sports watch with maps and music storage—the standard Fenix 6 is also good, but lacks maps, which I consider a key part of the Fenix line’s appeal.

The Garmin Fenix 7 came out in early 2022 and is still up to date with all of Garmin’s software features, some of which launched with the Garmin Fenix 7 Pro in 2023 but then rolled back to the 7. 

There are some hardware differences between the Fenix 7 and 7 Pro though. The Fenix 7 Pro has a better heart rate sensor than the Fenix 7, and all sizes and versions of the Pro have built-in flashlights and multi-band GPS, whereas with the 7 only the 7X has a flashlight and only sapphire models have multi-band GPS.

All three watches—the Fenix 6 Pro, Fenix 7 and Fenix 7 Pro—are discounted in the sales, and the savings are considerable. However, this is the first Cyber Monday where deals on the Fenix 6 Pro have started to drop off, presumably because stocks are running low.

You can get the Fenix 6 Pro for $499.99 on Amazon, or pay just $329.99 for a renewed version of the watch if you’re happy to go for a refurbished product. However, the best deal I’ve seen is on the larger Fenix 6X Pro Solar, which is reduced to $399.98 at Bass Pro.

Garmin Fenix 7 Cyber Monday Deals

The deals on the Fenix 7 are pretty standard across retailers, with Garmin leading the charge itself by knocking the price of the standard Fenix 7 model down to $449.99, which is as good a price as you’ll find anywhere. It’s worth considering upgrading to a sapphire model though, because they have more accurate multi-band GPS as well as using more durable materials. The Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar is $599.99 in sales, though for that price you can get the standard model of the Fenix 7 Pro instead if you’d rather have a built-in flashlight than a sapphire screen and titanium bezel.

Garmin Fenix 7 Pro Cyber Monday Deals

I didn’t expect the Fenix 7 Pro to be heavily discounted this year, but you can get $200 off any model in the range in the Garmin sales, or at Amazon if you prefer. That means it’s $599.99 for the standard Fenix 7 Pro, or $699.99 for a sapphire solar model with a titanium bezel.

It’s a similar story with the deals available in the UK, where the Fenix 6 Pro is no longer easy to find at substantial discounts, unless you opt for a renewed model on Amazon, which means you can get a Fenix 6X Pro for £447.74. A new Fenix 6 Pro is £549.99 on Amazon, which is a lot more than you’ll pay for a Fenix 7 in the sales, and no other retailers are picking up the slack, so it’s definitely worth upgrading to a Fenix 7 at least.

You can get the standard Fenix 7 for £399 at Amazon, which is £50 cheaper than it is in Garmin’s own sale, or the larger Fenix 7X Solar model for £499.99. Finding a sapphire solar model in the sales is trickier, but Blacks has reduced the Fenix 7 Sapphire model to £579.

Garmin Fenix 7 Pro Cyber Monday Deals

Amazon and Currys have slightly undercut Garmin with their sales on the Fenix 7 Pro, which has been reduced to £629 at both retailers. However, the cheapest Fenix 7 Pro in the Cyber Monday sales is the smaller Fenix 7S Pro, which is reduced to £599 at Amazon. The smaller size means the Fenix 7S fits thinner wrists better, but you get less battery life and a smaller screen, so if you don’t mind a slightly bigger watch I’d pay the £30 extra for the Fenix 7 Pro.

The Adidas Ultraboost Light is one of the early stars of Adidas’s Black Friday sale, with a massive 60% discount reducing some colors of the shoe down to just $76. If you can stretch to $88 you get an even wider range of colors to pick from, and that’s still a saving of more than $100 on the shoe’s RRP.

It's built for running, but the Ultraboost line has always successfully straddled both sports and casual use, and that’s still the case with the Ultraboost Light, which comes in a range of designs.

The key update to the shoe is right there in its name. The Light Boost foam in its midsole is 30% lighter than the Boost used in the Ultraboost 22, and while the Ultraboost Light is still not exactly a featherweight, it is about par compared with other highly-cushioned running shoes.

When I tested the Ultraboost Light for our review I found the lighter design improved it compared with the standard Ultraboost, and it lost nothing in terms of looks or durability.

It’s not the most exciting running shoe to use, or the most versatile, but it’s a capable daily trainer for cruising through easy runs, and has the plus points of its good looks and long-lasting design, both of which mean you can use it outside your training.

If you’re not convinced by the shoe, you also have the safety net of Adidas’s Performance Running Shoe guarantee, which allows you to return the shoe within 30 days if you’re not happy with it, no matter what condition it’s in or how many miles you’ve run in it.

It’s an impressive try-before-you-buy option, and given the low price in the Black Friday sales, this is the perfect time to grab the Ultraboost Light and see how it feels on the run, or just bag a deal on a nice shoe for casual use.

The Beats Powerbeats Pro were launched in 2019 and aside from the occasional release of new colors the buds are largely the same today. This means they’re out of date in some respects, with the most significant being that the Powerbeats Pro don’t have active noise cancellation (ANC) or a transparency mode. 

These are now standard features on in-ear headphones that cost a lot less than the $249.95 MSRP of the Powerbeats Pro, and you do get both modes on the Beats Fit Pro, which came out in late 2021 and are also cheaper on MSRP at $199.95.

However, one advantage of their age is that the Powerbeats Pro are always reduced during big sales events, and it’s nearly always a $100 discount that brings them down to $150. At this price they’re cheaper than the Beats Fit Pro, which are also reduced in the sales this year but only to $159.

I’ve tested a lot of sports headphones since 2019, and I still rate the Powerbeats Pro among the best, despite their age, because the essentials are done well—they sound great, have a secure fit for any activity, and long battery life.

Aside from the lack of ANC and transparency modes I found little to fault the Powerbeats Pro on when I originally tested them, or indeed when I started using them again lately to update our review on Coach.

In contrast, when I tested the Beats Fit Pro I found them surprisingly uncomfortable to use for anything longer than an hour or so, with the wing-tip digging into my ear. I’ve no such problems with the Powerbeats Pro, and even though the wing-tip on the Fit Pro create a secure fit for workouts, the extra reliability of the hook on the Powerbeats Pro is welcome during HIIT workouts and runs in particular.

Another advantage to the Powerbeats Pro is their controls are easier to use. You can adjust the volume using a separate set of buttons on each headphone—you can’t control volume on the Fit Pro buds—and the multifunction button on the Powerbeats Pro is well-positioned so you only touch it when you want to, whereas I frequently hit the button on the Fit Pro by accident.

Those advantages mean I’d opt for the Powerbeats Pro for $10 less in the Black Friday sales, with an eye to using them mainly as sports buds. However, if you travel a lot the ANC on the Fit Pro may be useful enough to swing the decision in their direction. The passive noise cancellation from the in-ear fit of the Powerbeats Pro blocks some external sounds, but not to the extent that ANC does.

In the UK the equation is a little different this Black Friday, since the Powerbeats Pro have only been reduced to £179 on Amazon from their MSRP of £269.95, while the Beats Fit Pro are £149 down from £219.99. The Powerbeats Pro are great and have advantages, but I wouldn’t pay £30 more to get them over the newer Fit Pro.

In recent years the price of running shoes has rocketed, so it’s wise to pick up a pair or two in the Cyber Monday sales. With a budget of $100, you can get some of the best running shoes in the sales, whether you’re looking for a cushioned daily trainer or a speedy all-rounder.

I’ve reviewed more than 50 pairs of running shoes in 2023 and have been scouting for deals on my favorites this Cyber Monday. I've found eight pairs of excellent shoes that have dropped below $100, and the standout deal is the 50% discount on the Adidas Boston 12 available at REI, though the range of sizes left on that shoe is small for men. If yours is sold out, check out the Asics Novablast 3, which has been reduced to $75 in Asics' sale.

I’ve yet to spot a set of the best carbon plate running shoes for under $100, but will keep hunting. In the meantime, here’s six recommendations of great shoes available for under $100, plus quick links you can use to check sales at big retailers.

Adidas Adizero Boston 12

One of the best new running shoes of 2023, the Adidas Adizero Boston 12 is a lightweight daily trainer that can handle pretty much any kind of run. It’s comfortable and has a responsive midsole that uses two foams and Adidas’s EnergyRods to add extra pop to each stride. If you buy just one shoe in the sales, this is the one I’d probably get. It’s reduced by 50%, to $80, in REI’s sale.

Puma Deviate Nitro 2

Another excellent all-rounder, the Deviate Nitro 2 is reduced from $160 to $90 in the Dick’s Sporting Goods sale. That’s a great price for a bouncy shoe with a plate that’s comfortable for easy runs and speedy when you want to do sessions or even race. The shoe also has a great outsole that grips well on wet paved surfaces and light trails.

Asics Novablast 3

Asics has reduced the Novablast 3 from $140 to $99.95, and that price then drops to $74.96 when you use the code CYBER at checkout for an additional 25% off. The Novablast 4 has just come out, which I’ve yet to test, but the Novablast 3 is a great running shoe with a high stack of comfortable cushioning. I mainly used it for easy daily training runs, though the Novablast 3 is a versatile shoe that would be a good all-rounder for new runners in particular.

Nike Pegasus Trail 4 Gore-Tex

A fantastic option for your winter runs, the Pegasus Trail 4 is a great all terrain shoe that’s comfortable on the road and has the grip you need on light trails, and the Gore-Tex version has a waterproof upper that will keep your feet warm and dry throughout the cold season. I tested the standard version of the Nike Pegasus Trail 4, which is also included in the sale if you don't need a waterproof upper, with one color of the women's shoe being just $63.73 after the CYBER code is applied. 

Saucony Triumph 20

The Triumph 20 is an excellent cushioned daily trainer and one of the best running shoes for beginners out there. It protects the legs well, though the midsole cushioning has a bit of pop for faster running, and it makes for a great marathon training and racing shoe for first-timers. The Triumph 21 is out now, but I didn’t find the new shoe to be a major upgrade during my testing, so I’d jump on this better-than-half-price deal at Saucony, which brings the shoe down to $78.71.

New Balance FuelCell Rebel v3

The Rebel is due a big upgrade soon with the fourth version, but it will be hard for the new shoe to offer a more enjoyable ride than the Rebel v3, which is a lightweight and bouncy shoe you can use for a wide variety of runs. The entire range of the shoe is reduced at Running Warehouse, with the $40 discount applied at checkout.

Puma Velocity Nitro 2

The Velocity Nitro 2 is one of my favorite running shoes, and one I use in my own rotation as a versatile daily trainer with outstanding grip on wet pavements. You can get the Velocity Nitro 2 for $96 in Puma’s sale using the code BLACKFRIDAY, which is not an outstanding discount on the shoe—it’s often in sales and with the Velocity Nitro 3 rumored to be on the way I hope for even better deals—but it’s still worth flagging as a great shoe available for under $100.

Nike Pegasus Turbo Nature

The Pegasus Turbo Nature is the pick of Nike's deals on running shoes right now, with lots of colors reduced significantly in the sale. The recycled ZoomX foam used in the midsole is firmer and less springy than fresh ZoomX, but the shoe still delivers a pretty bouncy ride and its a versatile option for daily training. It also looks great, so works for casual use as well. The best deals are on the women's shoe, but men also get a big discount on some colors, bringing the price well under $100.

The sleek and attractive Fitbit Luxe is by far the most elegant fitness tracker around. It’s also currently reduced in Amazon’s Black Friday sale—a deal that makes this tracker even more desirable than usual. 

The Luxe offers a useful combination of activity, health and sleep tracking. I wore it for my Fitbit Luxe review and found it gave me the nudge I needed to be more active every day. The AMOLED screen may be small but it’s bright and colorful, and the Luxe also has stress tracking and provides mindfulness breathing exercises that you can follow on the tracker.

UK readers will be pleased to know they can enjoy a similar saving.

Amazon gives the RRP as $129.95/£129.95 but that’s no longer true, as Fitbit now has the MSRP set at $99.95/£99.99. Regardless of the starting price, the sale price represents good value. Plus, you’ll get six months of Fitbit Premium membership included, which costs $80/£80 for a year. 

The silicon strap the Luxe comes with is comfortable and unobtrusive, but I’d opt to pair it with a stylish mesh strap, reduced to $6.39, for a more stylish look.

Fitbit is offering a bigger discount on the special edition gorjana soft gold stainless steel parker link bracelet, taking $80 off the MSRP. 

It’s a great tracker for daily activity and health stats, but the Luxe doesn’t have built-in GPS (it uses your phone’s signal), and the screen is a little small to work as a running watch. If that’s a dealbreaker but your heart is set on a Fitbit, look at the Fitbit Versa 4, currently reduced to $149 on Amazon. It’s a great all-round tracker that will track your runs and other outside activities with built-in GPS.

Two of the best Garmin Black Friday deals this year are the discounts on the Garmin Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 245. The music versions of both watches are substantially reduced, so you can get the Forerunner 245 for $199.99 on Amazon and Forerunner 255 for $299.99 on Garmin.

Both watches are older devices, the Garmin Forerunner 265 being the newer of the two, but both the Forerunner 245 and 255 are still excellent options at their reduced prices. 

The Forerunner 245 hasn’t received new features via software updates from Garmin in a while, but it still offers accurate and detailed sports tracking and some training analysis. It also has breadcrumb navigation and music storage, and lasted me a week on a charge quite reliably even when running every day.

Naturally the Garmin Forerunner 255 is an upgrade on the older watch, with notable new features including a multisport mode for triathletes and multi-band GPS, which is more accurate than the tracking available on the 245.

Other new features include more detailed training analysis, a race calendar widget, a morning report and heart rate variability tracking, which can help you judge how ready your body is to train each day (though the Forerunner 255 does not get Garmin’s training readiness measurement, which is on the 265).

There are also two sizes of the Forerunner 255. The smaller Forerunner 255S is a great option for those with smaller wrists, even if the smaller case means less battery life. The 255S still lasted me five or six days when running most days using the multi-band GPS, which uses more battery than standard GPS.

If you don’t need music features, you can actually get the Forerunner 255 for $249.99 at Amazon in the Black Friday sale, so if you carry your phone with you when training or just don’t need any audio encouragement during workouts, that’s the better deal for sure.

As a keen runner who doesn’t do triathlons, I’d say the Forerunner 245 Music would be the better watch for me to grab in the sales. I’d miss the multi-band GPS on the 255 for sure, but the 245 is a simple and reliable watch that I’ve happily trained with in the past, and it does everything I need for $100 less.

They’re Lululemon’s bestseller for a reason: The Align leggings are the best yoga leggings. I’ve tried a lot of leggings, on the hunt for the best running leggings and the best yoga leggings, and these are my go-to for yoga or general wear every time. 

I’m not the only one who thinks this. When another Coach writer tested every type of Lululemon leggings she declared these “the softest leggings on the planet” and some of the most comfortable leggings she’d ever worn—and are “perfect for yoga, Pilates, walking the dog or wearing for brunch”. 

The Align leggings are usually a splurge item, though Lululemon’s Black Friday sale is the perfect opportunity to grab a pair at a reduced price. While the full-length versions have remained stubbornly at full price, if you’re under 5ft 5in or don’t mind a cropped legging, there are plenty of colors and sizes to choose from in the US and the UK sale. 

My picks of the US sale are the eye-catching Lip Gloss, Dark Lavender or Utility Blue in the 23in length, all at $59, down from $98.

In the UK sale, I’d choose the Red Merlot, Pale Raspberry or the gorgeous Diamond Dye Pitch Grey Graphite, a kind of cloudy tie-dye effect. These are priced from £49 to £59, in a not-too-cropped 25in leg length, reduced from £88.

Beware, they’re selling fast—run, don’t walk, before all the best colors are gone!

I loved working out before the pandemic, so when gyms shut I had to find a new way to train. With limited funds at my disposal, I spent about $40 on one simple fitness tool. In the months that followed, it helped me to get in the best shape of my life. 

The equipment was a set of gymnastic rings, and today you can pick up a similar set from DMoose for less than $30. If you’re looking to build strength and muscle without a gym membership, I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Four Reasons To Consider Training With Gymnastic Rings

1. It’s Fun And Challenging

The biggest fitness-related problem for me during lockdown was workout monotony and gymnastic rings solved this. The closing of gyms threw my usual strength training-centric morning routine out of whack, and in the initial lockdown I tried to fill this void with bodyweight workouts. 

The reality? Unweighted squats, burpees, push-ups and lunges galore in my living room. Very soon, I was bored. 

Looping a set of gymnastic rings around a sturdy branch at my local park livened things up immediately. I dived into calisthenics videos and online articles for inspiration, and quickly found new exercises to try, from L-sit holds to archer pull-ups to the oddly-named “skin the cat” (Google it, it’s not as strange as it sounds). 

This not only made my training more fun and varied, it also meant I was able to perform more difficult exercises in sets that fell within the standard muscle-gain rep range of 8-12, rather than the monster sets of push-ups I’d been doing. 

When gyms reopened and I manhandled a barbell for the first time in months, I found my upper-body strength had improved slightly.

2. You Can Train Your Back Muscles Without Weights 

If you’ve ever tried to train your back muscles without any equipment, you’ll know where I’m going with this point. At the start of lockdown I didn’t have any weights in my one-bed abode, so my efforts to get a good back pump included a lot of Superman pull-ups, single-arm rows with an Ikea bag filled with rocks, and performing precariously supported pull-ups on a towel wedged around the top of my bathroom door.

Thankfully, gymnastic rings came to the rescue, offering a safer, more effective alternative. There are any number of row and pull-up variations you can do, as well as face pulls and biceps curls, as part of a comprehensive weights-free pull session. 

3. They Create Different Ways To Measure Progress

During my early years of lifting, my goals in the gym were simple: lift heavy, build muscle, look good. Success was measured in the mirror. 

As the years went by, I started wanting more from my workouts. I’d flirted with powerlifting and was fascinated with the idea of CrossFit workouts and hybrid training before lockdown, so when COVID-19 brought everything to a halt, I took the chance to change my approach. 

I’d take the rings to a running track, hang them from a nearby tree then alternate between exercises like pull-ups, dips, toes-to-rings and running intervals. These combined to form metcon workouts that challenged my heart, lungs and muscles. I also dedicated sessions to developing skills on the rings, working towards “skin the cat” and my ultimate goal, the strict ring muscle-up. 

Where the loss of lifting weights each morning had left my mood flat, I felt elated and energized after these types of workouts. I also mapped my progress against a multitude of factors, rather than just aesthetics. Yes, I was able to build muscle, but I was also enjoying pushing my body’s limits and finding out what it was capable of. Could I beat my previous biggest set of strict ring dips? Was I able to finish a metcon faster? Had the quality of my movements improved? 

Having multiple goals meant my motivation levels soared and I never missed a scheduled morning workout during this period. 

4. They Provide A Different Way To Train Your Legs

Ah, leg day. Start with a heavy compound exercise (more often than not the barbell squat) then work your way through a cluster of isolation moves like leg curls and extensions until you lose the ability to climb stairs. I’m sure this sounds familiar to many of you. Only, my local park didn’t have a barbell, or a leg extension machine. 

There are ways to strengthen your legs without these things though, if you do want to exercise outside the gym or take your regular training alfresco. I started by hitting high-volume leg workouts, though after buying gymnastic rings I changed tack. 

Instead, I focused on single-leg exercises like the pistol squat, with ring-supported pistols providing a handy stepping stone to help me learn the full movement. The rings also allowed me to perform hamstring curl variations, and play with the tempo of these exercises to make them more challenging. 

A leg day at a fully-stocked gym is still my go-to, and I was excited to go back to the squat rack as soon as gyms reopened. However, I was still impressed that the gymnastic rings were able to help me train my lower body. 

I’ve tested and reviewed more than 50 pairs of running shoes so far in 2023, so I can say with some confidence that the Adidas Boston 12 is one of the best new shoes to come out this year. It’s a major update on the Adidas Boston 10 and 11, and offers a versatile ride that’s fast enough for sessions and races while being comfortable enough for easy runs.

It’s one of the top daily trainers on the market, rivaling the likes of the Saucony Endorphin Speed 3, and good value at its MSRP of $160. I harbored hopes the Boston 12 would come down in price for Black Friday, since the Boston line is often reduced, and REI has come through in style with a 50% discount on the shoe bringing it down to $79.93.

That’s an even bigger discount than I hoped to see on the shoe, which I thought would drop to around $100, and the deal is unmatched anywhere else. Adidas is yet to reduce the Boston 12 in its sale and it’s still $160 at Dick’s Sporting Goods too.

The Boston 12 has a dual-density midsole with Adidas’s best foam—Lightstrike Pro—on top, and uses the brand’s EnergyRods in its midsole to add extra propulsion on the run in the same way a carbon plate does. The high stack and mix of foams mean the ride is comfortable at easy paces, but it’s still pretty light and the rods and bouncy Lightstrike Pro material mean the Boston 12 is great for faster runs too.

With Continental rubber on the outsole it also grips well in wet conditions, which is always handy when winter comes around. The upper is the only part of the shoe I don’t love, since it is a little thin and uncomfortable at times, but if you spend a bit of time sorting the lacing it’s not a major problem and certainly doesn’t outweigh the other benefits of the shoe.

During my testing I used the Boston 12 for a bit of everything, from hard 400m reps to easy 13-mile long runs, and enjoyed it each and every time. The only negative I can really find about this discount is that you don’t get the full range of colors to choose from, but the yellow men’s shoe on sale is the one I have, and it’s nice enough. 

If you’re looking for the smartest way to spend $80 on running shoes this Black Friday, jump on this deal and enjoy hundreds of happy miles in the Boston 12. The best alternative out there is a similarly good deal on the Puma Deviate Nitro 2, which is another great all-rounder running shoe going for $90 this Black Friday, but I prefer the Boston 12 and it’s $10 cheaper.

There are a lot of great Black Friday Garmin deals available right now, with discounted watches to suit all budgets. However, having tested almost every watch in Garmin’s current range, the deal that stands out the most to me is the $350 saving you can get on the Garmin Epix 2.

That brings the watch down to $449, which is still a lot of money, but considering that the Garmin Epix 2 is one of the best sports watches available and usually $799.99, it’s an excellent price.

With an attractive and durable design, color maps, music storage, a bright AMOLED display and all of Garmin’s top sports tracking and training analysis features, the Epix 2 will satisfy runners and triathletes of all levels. I used the sapphire version of the Epix 2 for most of last year while training for and running four marathons, and it’s a brilliant watch.

The Garmin Epix Pro came out this year but the Epix 2 was updated with all the new software on the Pro. The differences between the Epix Pro and the Epix 2 are that the Pro comes in three sizes, all of which have an upgraded optical heart rate monitor and a built-in flashlight, which you don’t get on the Epix 2.

Having tested both extensively I’d say that unless you plan on using the flashlight regularly or want a smaller or larger watch, the Epix 2 is better value than the Pro, even with the latter reduced to $699.99 in the Black Friday sales.

However, there is one feature that is not on the Garmin Epix 2 available in the sale which I would miss. The deal is on the steel version of the watch, which doesn’t have multi-band GPS, a feature that Garmin limited to the sapphire version of the Epix 2.

I love the extra accuracy you get from multi-band GPS, but it is true to say the all-systems-on GPS tracking you do get on the Epix 2 steel version is still highly accurate. Unless you’re a GPS obsessive like myself you probably won’t notice the difference. 

If you must have multi-band GPS, it’s standard on the Epix Pro, and also available on the Forerunner 955, which is down to $399 this Black Friday and also has Garmin’s latest software, in a lighter, plastic case. 

It’s hard to say a $449 sports watch is good value, but given the quality of the Epix 2 and the size of the discount you’re getting in Amazon’s sale, this is one of the standout Garmin deals of Black Friday so far for me. The best price I can see on the watch elsewhere is $499 at Best Buy, while Garmin hasn’t included the Epix 2 in its sale at all.

• Nike Vaporfly 2 on Nike UK: Men’s | Women’s

While almost every brand now makes a carbon plate running shoe, the Nike Vaporfly remains the most popular racer going. The Nike Vaporfly 2 and Nike Vaporfly 3 are the two shoes I see most often on the feet of fellow runners at races, and there will undoubtedly be a lot of people seeking a deal on either shoe this Black Friday.

I’ve been scouring the internet looking for the best Nike Black Friday deals, looking out for the Vaporfly in particular. If you’re in the UK there’s good news, there are several deals available on both the Vaporfly 2 and 3 in most sizes.

I’ve yet to find a similar deal in the US, unless you have very large or small feet. On the Nike site a few colors of the Vaporfly 2 drop as low as $112.48, but the only sizes available are 6, 6.5, 14 or 15. There’s also a $62.50 reduction on one color of the Vaporfly 2 at Dicks Sporting Goods, with sizes 12 and 13 available.

So it’s back to the UK for now, where you can find deals on the Vaporfly at SportsShoes and Pro:Direct as well as with Nike direct. The simplest deal is the £56 saving on a wide range of colors and sizes of the Vaporfly 2 available at Nike when using the code BLACKFRIDAY, which brings the price down to £168.71. 

It’s the option with the most sizes available, but it’s not the very best deal. The absolute lowest price I’ve found on the Vaporfly 2 is an outrageous £67.50 at Pro:Direct, so if you’re a women’s size 4 and love the color black, I have fantastic news for you. The small-footed can also find several colors of the Vaporfly 2 for around £110-£120 at Pro:Direct.

With regards to the Vaporfly 3 the cheapest I’ve seen the shoe is £152.50 at Pro:Direct Running, with sizes 6, 6.5, 7,12, 13 and 14 currently available. A lot more sizes and a few more colors are available if you can stretch to £188, which is still a £47 saving on the price of the shoe.

I was hoping to see even bigger discounts on the Vaporfly 2 this Black Friday, and still hope some sales on the shoe pop up in the USA on the day itself. I’ll keep on hunting, and hoping that something special does pop up on Black Friday, and not just in a size 4.

The best running shoes will be subject to tempting discounts throughout the Black Friday sales. Along with major sales from brands like Nike and Adidas, third-party retailers will be slashing prices on running shoes. It’s a great time to stock up on shoes for the year ahead.

However, it’s essential to have a plan for the sales. If you dive in blind it’s easy to be overwhelmed by the amount of deals and make decisions that result in shoes you barely use sitting in your wardrobe for years. I test and review running shoes for a living and this is my six-step strategy for making the most of the Black Friday sales.

1. Consider Your Running Shoe Rotation

Which running shoes do you need? If you’re a one-shoe runner, you may be looking to buy a great all-rounder shoe that you can use for everything in the months ahead; whereas, if you have a running shoe rotation where do you have gaps to fill? Do you need a cushioned shoe for easy runs, a trail-running shoe for off-road runs, or one of the best carbon plate running shoes for races? Running shoes last several hundred miles so, if you already have a relatively new shoe at home, there’s not much point in buying the same type of shoe in the sales.

2. Pick Your Targets In Advance

Once you’ve lined up which running shoes you want, it’s time to do your research and pick the shoes you want to find in the sales. Searching for discounts on a particular shoe you want is a more effective strategy than just browsing sales and hoping something leaps out.

Not every shoe will be discounted, so I recommend lining up A, B and C targets for the kinds of running shoes you’re after. Hunt for deals on them in turn, and if you have no luck, check again the next day rather than buying a shoe you’re not that keen on just for the sake of getting one.

3. Work Out What Size You Need

It’s rare to find a shoe in the sales with every size available and sometimes you have to move fast to buy a shoe before certain sizes run out. Running shoes don’t all fit the same so, once you’ve picked your target shoes, read reviews to find out how they fit. You’ll then know what size you’re searching for in the sales.

4. Bookmark The Links You Need

To be successful in the sales, you will probably need to do a lot of checking for discounts across a range of sites. Assemble those links in a bookmarks folder so you can quickly check through the sales. Here’s a few to get you started.

It’s an unfortunate truth but when shopping directly with brands many require you to be a member to get access to Black Friday deals. These memberships won’t cost you anything, beyond the annoyance of handing over your details, and will unlock the best deals from the likes of Nike and Adidas, so it’s worth sorting them in advance of your shopping.

6. Stack Deals Where You Can

Over the past few years, some of the best deals on running shoes have been based on stacking discounts, usually directly with a brand. Nike in particular likes to offer an “extra X% off” when using certain codes at checkout, and through this you can often reduce the price of sale items even further. This may also be the case with retailers who give discount codes out via emails, so it could be worth signing up to mailing lists.

If you’re looking for a deal on the best Hoka running shoes then Black Friday is the time to shop. The Hoka Black Friday sale is up and running in the UK, and there are big discounts on some of our favorites, including the Hoka Mach 5 and Hoka Speedgoat 5, as well as the Tecton X, which is one of the best carbon plate running shoes for the trails. Adjustable dumbbells are a great option if you want to work out at home, because one pair does the job of six or more fixed-weight dumbbells. That means you can adjust the weight to appropriately challenge the body part you’re working on (your legs are 10 times stronger than your shoulders, for instance) and as your strength increases, you can increase the weight to keep improving your strength. We particularly like the PowerBlock Sport 24 as a low-cost, high-quality option for beginners.

Which Adjustable Dumbbell Set Is Right For Me?

To help you decide which dumbbell suits you best, I thought I’d highlight the key differences between the three models. The most expensive set, the Pro 50s, go up to 50lbs and is constructed of urethane-coated steel weight plates which PowerBlock says makes for a smoother weight-changing experience. The Elite EXPs and Sport 24s are made from welded alloy steel and finished with powder-coated paint.

The Elite EXPs can be expanded with a PowerBlock Stage 2 or Stage 3 Expansion Set to take you up to 70 or 90lbs per dumbbell. That is very heavy, but if you are very serious about your training you may want the option to bulk up your dumbbells. Budget for a little over $150 to buy the expansion sets. 

As the Sport 24s max out at 24lbs, these are great for beginners, but you may find yourself needing to buy a heavier set later on as your strength increases. The Sport 24s increase in 3lb increments, which is more than the other two models, but the Elite EXPs start at 5lb, making them a little less suitable for someone who has never used dumbbells before.

The Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 is exactly the kind of running shoe to look for in the Black Friday sales. It’s one of the best running shoes available, with a cushioned and extremely comfortable ride, and it’s very expensive at full price, two factors that make it especially attractive when there are discounts available.

Right now you can get $40 off the Gel-Nimbus 25 at both Amazon and Asics, bringing the price down to $119.95. It’s the pick of Amazon’s early Black Friday sales on running shoes, and there is a wide range of colors available on both sites.

I enjoy using the Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 for long easy runs in particular, and have kept it in my running shoe rotation for that purpose even after I finished testing it for my review on Coach. I’ve run over half marathon distance three times in it and it’s perfect for relaxed long runs thanks to the high stack of FF Blast+ cushioning, which is comfortable but not so squishy as to be unstable.

At its full price there are some max-cushioned shoes I rate as better value than the Gel-Nimbus 25, like the Puma Magnify Nitro 2, but with this discount the Asics is now great value and worth considering. If you’re a fairly new runner it’s a shoe that will handle all your runs while protecting your legs as you get used to the impact of the sport, while experienced runners will find it best serves in a rotation as an easy run shoe that can handle a lot of mileage.

If the choice of colors overwhelms you, one last recommendation I have is to get the Lite Show version of the Gel-Nimbus 25. Not only is it more expensive at MSRP so your savings are bigger—it drops from $170 to $119.95—but it’s a great color and has lots of reflective sections that will make you a little more visible on night runs.

The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II and Apple AirPods Pro 2 are exactly the type of products to look out for in the sales. They are excellent buds: I rate them among the best workout headphones, and they are even better for lifestyle use—but usually come at such a high price there is better value to be found in more affordable alternatives like the Jabra Elite 8 Active.

In the sales, however, you can get both the Bose QC Earbuds II and the Apple AirPods Pro 2 for $199. There’s nothing better on the market at those prices for crossover sports/lifestyle use. There’s little between them on features such as sound quality, battery life and ANC, though if you have other Apple products the AirPods Pro 2 offer easy connectivity and smart features, which may swing it, while the Bose buds have a more secure fit for sports.

Head To Head

The AirPods Pro 2 and Bose QC Earbuds II are among the best in-ear buds for sound quality, and I enjoyed both equally on this front. Neither are the bassiest buds, but have enough power and offer exceptional clarity and depth of sound. The Apple AirPods Pro 2 offer spatial audio, which makes for a more immersive listening experience with compatible audio. This is something Bose offers on its QuietComfort Ultra, but not the QC Earbuds II.

I rate both among the best in-ear buds for ANC, though I give the edge to Bose here, with the QC Earbuds II being even more effective in canceling out the sounds of planes and trains in particular. However, it is the AirPods Pro 2 that have the more impressive transparency mode, because it filters out wind better. With the Bose buds I would get wind noise when using the awareness mode on runs and bike rides, which is not a problem with the AirPods Pro 2.

The Apple headphones have handy smart features that kick in automatically. With conversation awareness mode enabled the headphones can detect when you start talking and will turn on awareness mode, reduce the volume of your audio and block sounds from behind you to make talking to someone easier. The adaptive ANC mode also changes the amount of noise filtered out and adjusts the volume depending on your environment.

The Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2023 sales are now over but we've taken note of what deals were available on each Garmin device so you can work out what discounts are worth your time when the sales roll around again.

The standout deal was $200 off the Garmin Epix Pro, which is probably the best sports watch in the world—taking it to its lowest ever price. The Fenix range also got a chunky $200 discount.

Welcome $50 discounts on the fairly recent Forerunner 965 and Forerunner 265 made these excellent multisports watches even better value. 

It was a similar story in the UK, although the discounts didn't feel quite as generous across the board. Having said that, across the products we highlighted the average saving was $90 in the US, and in the UK the average saving was £95.

Black Friday 2023 might not be until November 24th, but the Fitbit deals are already cropping up, with a $60 discount at Amazon on the recently released Fitbit Charge 6 the standout so far. The Bowflex Treadmill 10 is the top pick in my round-up of the best home treadmills, and for good reason. It offers everything runners of all levels need to train at home, with a spacious running belt, high top speed and a connected experience via the JRNY app.

It’s always the first treadmill I check for in the sales, and Bowflex has reduced the Treadmill 10 by $300 in its early access Black Friday sale. All you need to do to access the deal is to enter your email address.

The Bowflex Treadmill 10 has a 10-inch screen on the console on which you can use the JRNY app. This is a subscription service that costs $19.99 a month or $149 a year, but you can get 12 months of access for $12 when buying the treadmill.

This is a deal worth adding to your basket because the JRNY app contains guided workouts and scenic runs, and lets you access the streaming services you already pay for, with Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime Video supported, so you can watch something on the screen during training sessions. 

There is also a shelf on the treadmill where you can place a tablet if seeking another source of entertainment—I usually had Zwift up on my iPad during workouts, because the Bowflex Treadmill 10 links easily with the virtual training app.

The speed range stops out at 12mph, while the incline range runs from -5% to 15%. With some of the scenic runs in the JRNY app the incline will automatically adjust in line with the terrain, making for a more realistic experience. 

While testing for my Bowflex Treadmill 10 review, I found the treadmill ran smoothly even when hitting its top speed for extended spells, and the 22-inch wide by 60-inch long running belt is big enough to stride out even if you are a taller runner. I’m 6ft and never had any concerns about the belt not being big enough for faster runs.

There are even more advanced home treadmills available, like the Technogym MyRun and Peloton Tread, but they are much more expensive than the Bowflex Treadmill 10 and the Bowflex will meet the needs of every runner easily. 

Black Friday itself might not be until November 24th, but the deals are already coming thick and fast. The Peloton Black Friday sale is now live, with savings of up to $700 in the US and £500 in the UK available. The machines themselves are discounted, but the biggest reductions are on packages which include accessories such as floor mats, dumbbells and cycling shoes.

Running is a sport in which the little things can have a huge impact on your enjoyment – if you get the details right it can make all the difference between an average run and a great one. That could mean eating a gel that fuels you without upsetting your stomach, finding the perfect socks to avoid blisters, or wearing underwear that reduces the risk of chafing.

There are many inexpensive products that fit the bill, and the good news is that they’re even less expensive in the Cyber Monday sale. We’ve picked out deals on a variety of products under £20 that will make your next run more fun, and they also work as brilliant gifts for runners if you’re getting your Christmas shopping done in the sales. 

We’ve also chucked in one product that’s just under £50, but to be fair it’s reduced from £100, and is a great gift idea either for yourself or another runner.

 
The Garmin Enduro doesn’t have the name recognition of the Fenix or Forerunner range, but it's one of the brand’s best sports watches that stands out by offering exceptional battery life. The Enduro 2 came out this summer, which meant we were eyeing up the original Enduro for big discounts this Black Friday, and we have not been disappointed.

In the UK you can get the Garmin Enduro for £329.99 at Wiggle, which is a 40% saving on its £549.99 RRP (Wiggle lists the saving at 49% because it’s using the Enduro’s original RRP, but the watch is now £549.99 on Garmin). You can also get the Enduro for £339.99 from Garmin, if you prefer to buy direct.

The best deal on the Enduro in the US is on Amazon, where it’s been reduced by 38% to $499.99 down from $799.99.

 These are huge savings on a watch that’s built for the long haul. Not only does the Enduro have a rugged design, but its incredible battery life means that we found it would last two to three weeks between charges comfortably. It also lasts 70 hours when GPS tracking, or up to 80 hours if in sunny conditions.

The Enduro 2 added maps and music, plus some new training features to become the top watch in Garmin’s range overall, but it’s incredibly expensive at $1,099.99/£929.99, making the original Enduro a better option for bargain hunters who love big batteries this Black Friday.

If you’re more concerned about getting the best features for your money, and happy to charge your watch more regularly, then you can get the Garmin Forerunner 945 for the same £329.99 price from Wiggle in the UK. The Forerunner 945 has music storage and maps and still lasts a week on a charge. 

If music and maps sound good, but you don’t like the plastic design of the Forerunner 945 then the Garmin Fenix 6 Pro is in the sales as well this Black Friday. You can get the top of the range  Garmin Fenix 6X Pro Solar for $549.99 at Garmin US, or £389.99 at Garmin UK.

And if all of those prices are off-puttingly high for you, then the best Black Friday Garmin deal for you might be on the Forerunner 245 Music. It’s a very capable sports watch with breadcrumb navigation and music storage, and it’s reduced to £169.94 on Amazon UK and $209 on Amazon US.

Of all the pairs I’ve tested in the past couple of years I rate the Jabra Elite 4 Active as the best all-rounders, offering the perfect balance of price and features. That means picking out the best Cyber Monday deal on running headphones is easy in 2022, because the Elite 4 Active have been reduced by 40 big ones to just $79.99 on Amazon US and £79 on Amazon UK.

That’s a 34% saving on their RRP and an absolute bargain whichever way you look at it. The Elite 4 Active have a secure and comfortable in-ear fit – they’re one of the only sets of headphones without a wing or hook that I find sit securely in my ears when running – and you can use them for hours without any irritation.

They also offer very good sound quality and both active noise cancellation and a transparency mode that’s very handy when you’re running in places where you want to be aware of your surroundings.

The battery life is also excellent considering how small the buds are. They last seven hours on a charge and the case holds another 21 hours. You can also get an hour of playback from a 10-minute charge – very handy if you realise you’re out of battery just before you start your run.

Amazon UK has also reduced the Jabra Elite 7 Active headphones in its Cyber Monday sale, dropping the price to £119. The Elite 7 Active have Jabra’s ShakeGrip coating which makes the fit a little better, but in truth the Elite 4 Active and Elite 7 Active buds are virtually indistinguishable when using them, so I’d certainly opt for the cheaper headphones in the sales.

The words “we made too much” will catch the attention of any Lululemon fan because that’s the phrase Lululemon uses when there’s a deal to be had. Black Friday is the best time to grab a deal on any Lululemon gear you’ve had your eye on, from yoga leggings to running kit and more. This year Black Friday is on November 24th, but there’s no need to wait till then: Discounts are already there, if you know where to look. 

I’ve seen how far prices have fallen over Black Friday in previous years and, armed with that knowledge, have cherry-picked great deals—even if they’re not labeled as Black Friday deals yet. Many of my favorite Lulu leggings feature in the sale, as well as plenty of other studio-to-street gear. 

Coach’s top picks in the 2023 Lululemon Black Friday sale include a discount on the Align High Rise Pant—almost universally acknowledged as the best yoga leggings—closely followed by reductions on my favorite running leggings, the Fast and Free High Rise Tight, and gym staple Wunder Train High-Rise Tight. Plus, the stylish Blissfeel 2 running shoe is also reduced in the sale.

This year Nike has gone further than we expected with its deals, with products that are normally excluded from its sales being massively reduced, like the Nike Vaporfly running shoe.

Right now you can use the code BLACKFRIDAY2022 to get an extra 20% off select items in the Nike US sale, while in the UK use the code GOBIG22 to get 20% off site-wide. Those discounts apply even to items that are already reduced, but you need to be a Nike member to take advantage of them. There are always a lot of great Black Friday Fitbit deals available each year, and picking out the best fitness tracker from the sales can be a tricky affair. If in doubt, however, it’s always smart to simply pick up the cheapest Fitbit in the sales, because most of what you buy with a Fitbit is access to the excellent ecosystem.

The Fitbit Inspire 2 is a great example of this. It’s reduced to just £44.99 in the Amazon Black Friday sale and while it’s not the newest or most feature-rich device in Fitbit’s line-up, it’s the best deal going.

As you’d expect from a Fitbit at any price, the Inspire 2 is an excellent activity and sleep tracker, and its slim design and monochrome display mean it’s a subtle presence on the wrist, so you can wear it with another watch.

Despite its small size the Inspire 2 lasts 10 days on a charge even while tracking your heart rate continuously. It also tracks your workouts automatically and logs your active zone minutes, so you can monitor your progress towards a weekly goal of 150 minutes. It’s the perfect tracker to put on and forget about, knowing that it’s logging all your activity and sleep to check in on later.

Fitbit did launch the Inspire 3 recently and it does have a brighter colour screen than the 2, along with SpO2 tracking, but otherwise it’s not a considerable upgrade on the older device. You can get the Inspire 3 for £69 in the Amazon sale, but we’d be getting the cheaper Inspire 2 ourselves, and there’s one more reason for that we haven’t mentioned yet.

If you buy the Fitbit Inspire 2 you get 12 months of Fitbit Premium included, which unlocks more insight into your sleep and activity in the Fitbit app, along with advice and guided workouts to help you live a healthier life. If you buy the Inspire 3 you only get six months of Fitbit Premium for free. Given that it costs £7.99 a month to subscribe to Fitbit Premium, or £79.99 a year, that’s a lot of extra value you’re getting with the Inspire 2 on top of its cheaper price.

A treadmill can be a hefty investment with most machines costing four figures, even if you use our round-up of the best Black Friday treadmill deals. True, you can find solid, if stripped-back, treadmills for upwards of £500, but if you’re a beginner runner or someone who is just looking to up their activity levels with an under-desk treadmill, there is a more suitable, more affordable way. 

The Mobvoi Home Treadmill Pro is currently down to £359.99, the cheapest it’s ever been. We’ve reviewed the Mobvoi Home Treadmill and included it as the top compact running machine in our tried-and-tested roundup of the best treadmills, so we’re confident that the pro version outperforms that modest price tag.  

First things first, this isn’t a product for seasoned runners. It has a maximum speed of 12km/h, which is approximately 5min/km pace, and the relatively narrow 40cm-wide running belt doesn’t suit speedy strides. However, it’s a good fit for slower steady-state sessions or newcomers looking to follow a couch to 5K run-walk plan. 

It’s also foldable and can double as a walking treadmill if you leave the sidebars down, slipping easily under a standing desk so you can smash your fitness tracker’s daily step goal during video calls. 

It has a quiet 0.75HP motor that won’t annoy the neighbours or even your housemates, and we found it had no problem coping with longer walking sessions. Our reviewer noted that the belt is longer than you’d expect on treadmills at this price too, making it more suitable for jogging and ideal for taller users. 

There are no incline settings, and the Mobvoi treadmill can’t hold a candle to more expensive running machines which still feel sturdy when running at higher speeds. For this reason, our writer described it as “a walking treadmill that you occasionally use to run”. But, if that’s what you’re after, you’ll struggle to find a better machine for the price. 

To top things off, it’s quick and simple to assemble, can easily be stored under a sofa or bed when folded flat, and has wheels on one end to make it easier to move around,. 

So, if you’re looking to buy a treadmill to start running at home or walk while you work, we think this is a top budget option. 

This is the first Black Friday since the launch of the Garmin Fenix 7 range in early 2022, so the Fenix 6 range is in line for significant discounts. Shop around and you’ll find savings on all models in the Fenix 6 range, making it tempting to pick up the older watch rather than the latest edition, even over some of the other great Black Friday Garmin deals.

In the Garmin Black Friday sale you can get the top model in the Fenix 6 range – the Fenix 6X Pro Solar – for $549.99 from Garmin US or £389.99 from Garmin UK, a huge saving on its $949.99/£719.99 RRP.

The standard Fenix 6 Pro on Garmin US is $349.99, down from $649.99, while in the UK you can get it for £299 from Argos, a £300 reduction on its original £599.99 RRP. However, before you invest, it’s worth knowing about a few flaws and the one huge benefit you get with the Fenix 6 series. We’ll delve into each in turn below, but first, a rundown of the deals.

Garmin Fenix 6 Pros And Cons

One key area where the Fenix 7 improved on the 6 is GPS accuracy. The sapphire models in the Fenix 7 range all have multi-band GPS and are among the most accurate watches on the market, while even the cheaper Fenix 7 watches have all-systems-on GPS tracking, which did prove an upgrade on the accuracy of the Fenix 6 range in my testing.

Battery life has also been extended across the Fenix 7 range compared with the 6 (our extensive Garmin Fenix 6 vs Fenix 7 comparison goes into much greater detail on battery performance), and the newer watch also still benefits from software upgrades, which has seen new features like training readiness and native running power measurements brought to the watch since its release.

There’s no doubt the Fenix 7 is a better watch than the 6 on several fronts, but there is still a case to be made for grabbing a deal on a Pro version of the older watch. The Pro models all have music storage and maps, as well as extensive training analysis features and excellent sports tracking. We would say it’s worth getting a Pro model of the Fenix 6 through, since the non-Pro versions don’t have music and maps.

While the GPS accuracy on the Fenix 6 Pro can be spotty, I still used it to train for several marathons happily enough, and I got seven to 10 days of battery life from the watch even when running around 100km a week. 

It’s a shame to miss out on a great feature like training readiness, which rates the condition of your body each day and advises how hard you should train, but not every runner will use it that much. Whereas the mapping and music features are something most Fenix buyers will use, and they’re pretty much the same on both the Fenix 6 and 7.

If you go in with your eyes open to the fact that the Fenix 6 is unlikely to get any new software features from Garmin in the future, and that the GPS accuracy isn’t always perfect, there’s no reason not to grab a great deal this Black Friday. If you can’t live without the new features, then note there are some Fenix 7 deals to look at, including $100 off the Fenix 7 in the Garmin US sale. Or if you’d prefer a deal on a Garmin with better GPS, we recommend the Garmin Forerunner 245.

The Nike Vaporfly is the shoe that started the carbon plate revolution in road running, and the latest edition – the Nike Vaporfly NEXT% 2 – is still the best carbon plate running shoe you can get. Right now it’s also pretty much the cheapest carbon shoe you can get, with some colours available for just £101.23 in the Nike Black Friday sale.

There are only a few colours of the Vaporfly included in this deal, and sizes will start to sell out fast. In the time I spent writing this the size 9 I’d selected in the red and black Vaporfly went out of stock, so do not dilly dally if you are considering snapping up this deal.

The Vaporfly combines a full-length carbon plate with a high stack of Nike’s soft and springy ZoomX foam. That combination creates a propulsive and efficient ride that’s ideal for PB-seeking at any distance. Something I can confirm personally having run my 5K and marathon PBs of 15min 30sec and 2hr 28min, respectively, in the Vaporfly 2 over the past 12 months.

If you’re looking for a cheap training shoe to pair with the Vaporfly, then the reliable Nike Pegasus 39 is reduced to £76.97 in the Nike Black Friday sale, and that price drops to just £57.73 with the code GOBIG22 at checkout.

Peloton’s first attempt at 2022’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale was a let down. The only deals available were on packages of a cardio machine plus accessories, and the discount meant you weren’t saving anything compared with simply buying the cardio machine alone.

Fortunately, Peloton has increased the discounts on packages so you can now get a Bike, Bike+, Guide  or Tread, plus some useful extras, for less than the price of the equipment itself.

Since then, it has come to our attention that the Peloton deal at Amazon is being recommended by other websites. The prices are the same – $1,145 in the US and £1,095 in the UK – but the Amazon deal is for the Bike only, not the Bike and the package. To be clear: Buy the Peloton Bike from Peloton and you get cycling shoes, hand weights, a bike mat, an exercise mat and a water bottle thrown in for free.

Even with these discounts Peloton’s machines are still more expensive than connected bikes and treadmills with built-in screens from other brands in the Cyber Monday sales. NordicTrack has several smart bikes and treadmills available in its sale, and Echelon has reduced its treadmill and range of connected spinning bikes. Peloton Bike Cyber Monday Deals

The Bike Premier and Bike Ultimate packages have been reduced by $600 in the US and £500 in the UK (before the discount was just $300/£250). This brings the Bike Premier package down to $1,145/£1,095 and the Ultimate package to $1,225/£1,180, while just buying the Bike itself costs $1,445/£1,345. 

The Premier package includes cycling shoes, light dumbbells, a bike mat, an exercise mat and a water bottle, while with the Ultimate package you also get heavier dumbbells and a heart rate monitor (but lose the water bottle, which is devastating).

Those same packages are available on the Bike+ at a $600/£500 discount, with the Premier package now costing $2,195/£1,745 and the Ultimate $2,275/£1,830. The Bike+ has a bigger screen than the Bike, and the screen rotates 360°, which makes it easier to follow non-cycling classes.

Peloton Treadmill Cyber Monday Deals

The reduced packages available with the Peloton Tread are even more impressive with regards to the accessories you get. Both the Tread Premier and Ultimate packages are reduced by $600/£500 and now cost $3,195/£3,095 and $3,220/£3,120 respectively, compared with $3,495/£3,345 for the Tread alone.

In the Premier package you get two sets of dumbbells, a heart rate monitor, an exercise mat, yoga blocks and a glass water bottle. In the Ultimate you get all that, plus another set of dumbbells and a yoga strap, but in an unexpected move the water bottle is downgraded from water to plastic.

Peloton Guide Cyber Monday Deals

 The Peloton Guide workout camera is also included in the sale, and once again you can get a package of the Guide plus accessories for less than the Guide itself. The Guide Strength Starter package is $245/£245 down from £495/$545, and the Guide Power package is $495/£445 down from $795/£695, while the Guide by itself is $295/£275.

In the Strength Starter package you get three sets of dumbbells that you choose from a range of six (options from 5lbs/2.3kg to 30lbs/13.6kg) plus a workout mat, while in the Power package you get all six sets of dumbbells and a workout mat. We reckon the Starter package offers the best value available right now, since you can always pick up more dumbbells later if you find you need them.

The Adidas Prime X Strung is one of the more intriguing carbon plate running shoes on the market. It’s also one of the most expensive, with an RRP of $300, which tends to put us off recommending it since it has a 50mm stack height which is technically illegal for road races.

However, that rule is really for elites, not amateurs, and now that the Prime X Strung has been reduced by 50% to $150 in Adidas’s Black Friday sale, we’re ready to throw caution to the wind and suggest runners should consider giving it a go.

Even if you don’t intend on racing in the shoe it makes for an incredible training option, with the huge stack offering a high level (literally) of comfort, and we expect the carbon EnergyRods and plastic EnergyRods in the bouncy Lightstrike Pro midsole will combine to deliver a powerfully propulsive ride.

We’re especially surprised to see the Prime X Strung reduced in the sale because it is a relatively recent launch for Adidas, with the new Strung upper creating a more comfortable and secure fit than the mesh upper that was on the original version of the Prime X.

The extra security of the new upper is welcome because using a 50mm-high stack shoe naturally creates some concerns about stability. Don’t expect to fly around any corners in the Prime X Strung, but from what we’ve heard, on a flat, straight road the ride is as impressive as any carbon shoe on the market.

At the time of writing almost every size of the Prime X Strung was still available in the sale, but we don’t expect that to be the case for long. If you’ve been tempted by the idea of trying Adidas’s illegally-high carbon racer, there is no better time to give it a go.

Before diving in to look at the three reduced massage guns to see which would suit you best, it’s worth flagging that both the Mini and PRO guns have been superseded by newer versions this year. However, the updates are not revolutionary – the new Mini is smaller and lighter, and the new PRO runs more quietly – so we’d recommend grabbing a deal on the older guns rather than splashing out on the new generation.

All three Theraguns included in the Black Friday sale offer the same maximum speed of 2,400 percussions per minute, which is a notable feather in the cap of the cheaper, smaller Mini. 

That’s one of the key reasons we rank the Mini number one in our best massage guns round-up – you’re getting a high level of performance in a more portable design for a lot less than what you have to spend on the Elite and PRO guns. You even get the same 2.5 hour battery life on the Mini as you do on the PRO.

There is a wider range of speeds on the Elite and PRO guns though, and the larger body makes it easier to grip the massage gun in different ways as you work around your body’s muscle groups. There are also no interchangeable heads on the Mini, whereas the Elite offers five different heads, and the PRO six.

If you do want a bigger gun with more heads, the Elite is our preferred pick from Therabody, since it matches up to the PRO in all the key areas of performance and is not as expensive. However, the price difference is a lot less in the Black Friday sale and you get an extra battery with the PRO that means you can always rely on a charged-up battery pack ready to sub in, so if the idea of that appeals now is the time to splash out on the bigger gun, since it’s only £94 more than the Elite, whereas the price difference at RRP is £174.

Myprotein is one of the more active brands during the Black Friday period, not only offering great long-term deals throughout the week but also popping up with extra discounts for those who keep a sharp eye on its website.

At the moment you can get up to 80% off everything on the UK site using the code BLACK, and up to 40% off on the US site with the code DEAL. There have also been flash sales on the site where an extra 10% was knocked off protein products on top of the discounted price, and Myprotein even offered tubs of its Clear Whey powder for just 1p at one point.

We say this not to make you rue missed opportunities, but to alert you to the fact that more great deals are likely to land on the Myprotein site, so it’s worth checking here regularly as we’ll flag up when they do.
