Boost Your Libido With This Sexy Meal Plan

If you’re looking to woo your partner, skip the over-booked restaurant and serve them some deliciously seductive home-made grub. The meal plan below is packed with libido-boosting ingredients to get both of you in the mood for love, and includes a recipe for date-night classic coq au vin, provided by chef Jesse Dunford Wood. Just make sure you don’t overdo the wine if you want to bring your A-game.

Coq au vin (serves 2)

4 chicken legs, skinned / ½ bottle of red wine / 1tbsp olive oil / 100g button mushrooms / 100g carrots, peeled and chopped / 100g shallots, peeled / 50g smoked back bacon, sliced / A pinch of thyme / 1 bay leaf / 1l chicken stock / A pinch of chopped parsley / 10g cornflour, mixed into a paste with cold water.

To make

  • Mix the chicken, mushrooms, shallots, carrots, thyme and bay leaf with the red wine and leave to marinate for at least two hours, or ideally overnight.
  • Remove the chicken and fry it lightly in a pan with the olive oil.
  • Place the chicken in a deep casserole dish with the vegetables, wine and chicken stock and bake it in a pre-heated oven at 180° for two hours.
  • Drain the liquid into a saucepan and stir in the cornflour paste to thicken it.
  • Serve the chicken, then cover it with the sauce and the parsley.
  • Enjoy with a large glass of red wine.
