MF: What’s your proudest achievement as an athlete?

TC: Coming third in the WBFF London show in 2014 and winning the Miami Pro in 2013.

MF: What about as a coach?

TC: I trained a team of guys to enter the Pure Elite Fitness bodybuilding competition and we picked up three trophies. One was for winning the Fitness Model category.

MF: Can anyone become a successful fitness model?

TC: Yes, anyone can physically make a transformation, but to actually achieve one you need to be super-dedicated. And it’s the strict diet more than training that’s the tough bit of it.

MF: What's the biggest mistake people make with nutrition when getting ready for a physique competition?

TC: Going straight from bulking to starvation mode. You lose muscle but keep body fat, plus you feel very lethargic.

MF: What’s the best way to get your muscles popping for the stage?

TC: Hammer your arms and chest. Leave your abs and legs alone.

MF: What’s the key to enjoying training?

TC: Mixing things up and being spontaneous. I never note down my workouts or obsess about planning.

MF: What are your aims for 2015?

TC: To become a WBFF Pro.
