Everyone in your office has different skills and when you combinethem together, we bet you make a pretty capable unit. Enter the Great Escape Challenge, which takes place over the weekend of 21st-23rd May 2010 in the Brecon Beacons, Wales, and you'll have a chance to prove it.
You'll be one of 60 four-person teams taking on an event that's a bit like an outdoor version of the Krypton Factor.Over ten hours you'll have to trek, run and cycle along a challengingly hilly route, stopping at different points to take on avariety of taxing mental challenges.
If you'rewondering why we're not being more specific about the challenges you'llface, it's because the organisers want to keep you on the edge of yourseat by not revealing any course or challenge specifics until thetechnical briefing the day before the race. Rest assured, they'll besome of the most exhilarating team adventures you've ever experienced.
Four-person team entry costs £600 plus VAT per with a minimum sponsorship amount of £2,000 per team, which goes to Marie Curie Cancer Careto provide more free nursing care to patients with terminal cancer andother terminal illnesses in the comfort of their own homes. If youraise more than that the organisers will reward you with a bit ofinsider info about the course – who says success can't be bought?
Aspart of your entry fee you will get a team welcome pack when you arriveat technical briefing the night before the challenge, a camping spotfor two nights, food throughout the jaunt, a big piss-up after theevent and a T-shirt as a souvenir.
The best thing about taking part in the challenge, however, is the peace of mind you'll get from raising the money for Marie Curie Cancer Care, and the sense of camaraderie you'll develop with your workmates, which will pay dividends when you're back in the office.
