3 benefits of sex
Sex – brilliant for three reasons you might not be aware of.
It doesn't count as a proper workout - half an hour of sex burns just 85 calories, so to lose a pound of fat in one month you'd need to do the deed 42 times - but there are other health benefits of regular fornication.
Lower blood pressure
We don't need a scientist to tell us that sex reduces stress, but did you know that it also lowers blood pressure? Researchers at the University of the West of Scotland found that subjects who had recently had sex had lower blood pressure and responded better in stressful situations, such as public speaking and verbal arithmetic.
Better immune system
Frequent bonking can reduce the risk of picking up the common cold and other similar viruses. Subjects in a US study who reported having regular sex had higher levels of an immune-boosting antibody than their celibate friends.
Cancer prevention
Men who ejaculate at least five times per week may reduce their likelihood of getting prostate cancer, according to a study in the British Journal Of Urology International. A US study also found fewer incidences of the disease in men who ejaculated more than 21 times per month.
