Pacific Rim is getting rave reviews with some critics going as far to call it the best summer blockbuster since Jurassic Park. It's directed by Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy) and stars British actors Charlie Hunnam and Idris Elba.

In the 2020s, Earth is under attack by Kaiju, colossal monsters that have emerged from a portal on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. To stand a chance at fighting the monsters, the humans of earth unite to create Jaegers: gigantic humanoid robots controlled by two pilots simultaneously. Set in the war's later days, the story follows Raleigh Becket (Hunnam), a washed-up Jaeger pilot called out of retirement in a last-ditch effort to defeat the gigantic monsters threatening humanity's existence.

Hunnam started his acting career in popular 90s children's drama series Byker Grove, years later he made a name for himself across the pond in hit US TV series Sons of Anarchy as lead role Jax Teller. Sons of Anarchy has its fair share of action scenes, but Pacific Rim is Hunnam's first leading role in a full-on action movie and despite the heavy use of CGI in the film, he still needed to get into incredible shape as you can see from some of the clips in the interview.
