It’s estimated that nine out of ten people who attempt the Cuillin Ridgetraverse fail at their first attempt. Having minor vertigo and no climbingexperience wasn’t going to help my chances.
 
The first part of the film showsthe incredible view out to sea at the start of our two-day trip. In my headthe ascent of King’s Chimney, two and a half minutes in to the film, wasswifter and more graceful. But, thanks to my guide Alec Roberts, at least I got it to the top, completed allthe major climbs and made it in to the second day.
 
Then the weather turnedbad and suddenly it didn’t seem quite so picturesque.
