Wedding season is upon us – and that means stag dos, hoping all the reasonably priced gifts on the registry haven’t been bought already, and deciding whether to replace your special-occasion suit.
Let us make the decision for you on that last point: upgrade your wedding suit to one of the skinny single-breasted (£200) or double-breasted three-piece (£250) suits from Topman’s new Fine Tailoring line by designer Charlie Casely-Hayford. All the suits are made from Italian wool and come in maroon, blue twill and grey check.
Charlie Casely-Hayford is the younger partner in father-and-son design duo Casely-Hayford, whose shows have attained must-see status at London Fashion Week over the past few seasons thanks to exquisite contemporary tailoring collections. For this collaboration with the fast-fashion retailer, says Charlie, the clothes have retained “Savile Row detailing such as a half canvas and a working cuff… combining those elements with a streamlined and modernist Topman outlook.” Sounds good to us.
The range comprises ten carefully crafted suits. For those who require something for the office, there are affordable and stylish suits especially made for work, crafted from Italian fabrics in classic but modern single- and double-breasted styles.
The Weekend suit merges both fashion and function, using technical fabrics to deliver a modern alternative to the traditional suit with stretch wool fabrics used in both the single- and double-breasted jackets, allowing for ease of movement.
If the occasions you’re attending are more formal, or you’re already looking ahead to the end of the year, the collection also offers black-tie options. The signature teal velvet tuxedo with a shawl collar is a particular highlight, while the classic tuxes in black or white are stylish and contemporary. Don’t wait, though – this is a limited-edition run. topman.com
