Do Your Socks Perfectly Match Your Trainers? Why On Earth Not?!

Socks don’t tend to get the love or attention they deserve, unless you’re the type who is dying to express their sartorial elan but is confined by a staid dress code at work. Most of us, it’s fair to say, are satisfied with finding a matching pair that’s hole-free.

But one company who obsess over foot-liners – as no-one calls them – is Stance. It supplies performance socks to major league baseball and basketball players in America, and does a brisk trade in cool socks. Not “cool” socks like you might get your dad, but collaborations with figures like cult hip-hop supervillain MF Doom.

It was really only a matter of time before a brand that clad top athletes’ feet hooked up with a sneaker company – and lo and behold, Stance has collaborated with New Balance on the latter’s popular 247 line, familiar to anyone with a passing interest in footwear.

The All Day All Night 247 sneaker collaboration comes in two different styles, each with matching socks.

The white shoe features a sunrise gradient print on the collar and reflective detailing on the laces, collar strap and heel. The socks also include the reflective detailing and match the sunrise gradient for a seamless colour blend from trainer sneaker to sock. The sleek black sneaker, meanwhile, has a rich purple (mirrored in the socks) ankle sock and a graphic on the outsole.

And thankfully, while sneakerheads may fall over themselves to get their mitts on each design and wear them on special occasions, the 247 is a great trainer for active people, with a mesh upper and lightweight REVlite midsole.

The only problem is, if you wear your new 247s every day, you’re going to need do a wash every night or your socks won’t match. Gah! £124, buy All Day 247 on newbalance.combuy All Night 247 on
